How does this sound for my essay so far?
Sergei Prokofiev was a Russian composer born on April 23 1891. He grew up on a farming village in what is now Ukraine, raised by his father and mother. His father was an agricultural engineer, but his mother was very smart and had a talent for music, including the piano. His mother probably had the most impact on his musical career. Even as a child, he was very fond of music. In his journal he wrote, “When I was put to bed at night, I never wanted to sleep. I would lie there and listen as the sound of a Beethoven sonata came from somewhere far off, several rooms away. More than anything else, my mother played the sonatas of Volume one”
